Visakhapatnam: TDP legislator from Visakhapatnam West PVGR Naidu
(Ganababu) on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led NDA Govenrment at the Centre was trying to ruin the economic development of Visakhapatnam.
Talking to reporters here, he said the latest in the BJP plot was restrictions of flight operations at Visakhapatnam airport. “It is unfair that no civil flights should be operated during morning hours when the Defence aircraft training session will be held. Already, Visakhapatnam is an international airport with several flights operated from here. The new restrictions will mean that the flights from Sri Lanka will be fully stopped.
Our Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, had used his good offices to attract foreign airlines to the city. Now the sanctions will have effect not only on international flights, but several domestic flight operations which will block traffic to the rapidly growing port-cum-steel city,” he pointed out.
Ganababu said that the new restrictions raised many doubts among the public, for already, several public sector undertakings like Dredging Corporation of India and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant were threatened with disinvestment fully or partly, leading to their closure. “Our Chief Minister is already apprised of the situation. He promised that our TDP MPs will take the fight to the Parliament during the monsoon session,” he said.
